Lummi Island Reefnetting and Salmon Bake on the Beach
Join us on the beautiful and pristine Lummi Island, part of an archipelago that includes the San Juan Islands and the Gulf Islands in the Salish Sea, the waters off the coasts of the Pacific Northwest and southwest Canada. This is a region marked by mountains, rivers and lakes and populated by salmon and orca. Here, Cedarbrook's Culinary Director, Roy Breiman, will lead us on a tour of the famed Willows Inn and Nettles Farm B&B. Observe firsthand the striking flock of Poulet Bleu that live on the Farm. Next, you will learn to reefnet with Roy and Riley Starks, owner of Nettles Farm B&B and Lummi Island Wild. The catch from this historical salmon fishing method that has been used for centuries by Native American tribes will be used to prepare a delicious dinner. Chef Roy and Riley will share their personal techniques as they bake the freshly caught salmon over a beach bonfire.
Transportation is included in all Culinary adventures. Departure will take place at approximately 9:30 AM from Cedarbrook Lodge. Our estimated return to Cedarbrook will be between 10-11PM. On-site parking at Cedarbrook Lodge is included.
