Mental Health First Aid- Adult
Date: April 18-19,2016 Time: 9:00 am - 1:30 pm Location: Cardinal Innovations- Mecklenburg Community Office 1100 S. Tryon St., Suite 100 Charlotte, NC 28203 Cost: $20(includes manual & snacks)
Mental Health First Aid is evidence based, interactive training. Participants will learn 1- potential risk factors and warning signs for a range of mental health issues; 2- an understanding of the prevalence of various mental health disorders in the United States and the need for reduced stigma in their communities; 3- a 5-step action plan encompassing the skills, resources and knowledge to assess the situation, to select and implement appropriate interventions, and to help the individual in crisis connect with appropriate professional care.
All participants MUST be present both days from 9 AM -1:30 PM, in order to become Mental Health First Aid certified, beginning promptly at 9 AM each day. Please note that no entry will occur to the training after 9:15 AM. Parking information will be sent to the registered email addresses the day before the training occurs We will have coffee, water and snacks available
