DIRECTOR'S COMMENTARY: TERROR OF FRANKENSTEIN
Cinedelphia Film Festival presents DIRECTOR'S COMMENTARY: TERROR OF FRANKENSTEIN
A seemingly forgettable 1977 adaptation of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein actually turns out to be one of the most interesting of its many film incarnations thanks to a highly riveting commentary track from director Gavin Merril and screenwriter David Falks. Merril has a fondness for the film that is in complete contrast to Falks, and the twosome's bickering illuminates the murderous secrets behind the film's production.
From the makers of Room 237 and The Nightmare comes this highly original and completely engrossing experiment in film presentation. Featuring the voices of veteran actors Clu Gulager and Zack Norman, as well as original Terror of Frankenstein star Leon Vitali as himself, Director's Commentary successfully takes the standard behind-the-scenes audio track format and manipulates it into a work of absorbing art.
Screens with: "Night of the Slasher" (11 min, Dir. Shant Hamassian) A shot-in-one-take slasher film about a teenage girl who must commit horror movie sins such as drinking alcohol, doing drugs, and having sex in order to lure a masked killer and defeat him.
