Dr. Rob Watson Pianist Homage to Enrique Granados (1867 1916)
The Courthouse is extremely Lucky to have Dr. Watson performing for us.
The musical career of pianist Rob Watson spans both performance and higher education. While highly regarded as Professor of Piano and Keyboard Area Coordinator at California State University, Fullerton, he has also given numerous solo, chamber and concerto performances, including appearances in Bulgaria, England, Austria, Italy, China and Japan. His chamber music concerts have been with the St. Petersburg String Quartet, and with members of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the Pacific Symphony, and the G. Verdi Conservatorio (Milan, Italy). His recordings were released on the Educo label.
As a researcher, Dr. Watson has presented invited papers at the National Conference on Keyboard Pedagogy, and the World Piano Pedagogy Conference, and given lectures on topics ranging from piano literature, and advanced pedal techniques, to somatic-psychological issues in performance.
In the Fall of 2011, Dr. Rob Watson established the Performance Science Centre lab at Cal State Fullerton, in collaboration with two other music professors. The lab is equipped with computer software that combines graphic displays from sEMG, video from 2 cameras, and audio feed useful in analyzing movement patterns, patterns of tension and release, helping musicians to improve performance efficacy, and allowing students and faculty to set up research activities.
Please join us in welcoming Dr. Watson all the eay from the West Coast for an enlightening performance of piano and talents that will have you mesmerized.
