Michigan friends, I am thrilled to visit Ann Arbor with a special workshop for you! As "Stukulele" I was a headliner at last year's Mighty Uke Day Festival in Lansing and am very happy to be coming back with a special workshop & mini concert for you.
In this workshop we'll learn Rockabilly & Rock n Roll guitar styles adapted for Ukulele. You'll play classic songs and learn the tricks of Rockabilly rhythm & lead playing in the styles of Carl Perkins, Brian Setzer, Chuck Berry, Scotty Moore, and many more.
This workshop will teach you some killer rock n roll tricks including:
-songs by Chuck Berry, Carl Perkins, Eddie Cochrane, Little Richard, The Beatles
-rock n rolls strums & different feels
-12 bar blues form
-boogie woogie bass lines
-single note & double stop soloing (ala Chuck Berry)
-finger picking backup (ala Travis Picking)
-stage presence and showmanship tricks
After the workshop Stu will play a short set of his solo ukulele music and then hanging out for an informal meet and greet. Looking forward to seeing you there!
This workshop is open to those with basic ukulele skills & up.
TRAVEL ADVISORIES:
1)
I-275 South is completely CLOSED between Farmington Hills and the M-14. if you normally use 275 S to get to M-14/Ann Arbor, allow extra time.
Due to construction, M-14 WEST is closed AFTER Main Street. But that should not affect the workshop. Anyone traveling on M-14 WEST should take it all the way to the end and get off at Main Street (Exit 3). From Exit 3 it's only 10 minutes away.

Directions from Farmington Hills / Livonia / Novi
Even with construction on 275, Ozs Music is still only 40-50 minutes from Farmington Hills. Use local roads (Farmington Rd. Halstead, Merriman, Middlebelt, etc.) and get on I-96 WEST.
Take I-96 W (stay in left lanes) and merge onto M-14 WEST.
Stay on M-14 WEST all the way to Exit 3 (Main Street).
When you get off of M-14, continue straight on Main Street for 3 miles, through downtown Ann Arbor, towards Michigan Stadium.
When you get to Michigan Stadium, turn LEFT at the light onto STADIUM BLVD.
Stay on STADIUM BLVD. for 1 mile to PACKARD ST.
Make a RIGHT onto PACKARD ST. and go about a quarter mile. Ozs Music is in a shipping center on your RIGHT. Parking is available in the front, side and rear of the store. Address is 1920 Packard St., Ann Arbor MI 48104.
