MY SLAVE SISTER/MYSELF WITH SANKOFA PROJECT
1:45PM SANKOFA PROJECT (12:00min) with MY SLAVE SISTER/MYSELF (55:00min) effects of the Trans- Atlantic slave trade on the enslaved African female and draws a parallel between feelings deeply embedded in the souls of today's African American woman. This ground breaking film also exposes how slavery shaped African American manhood and rips the facade off perceptions of the 'Black man's sexuality and the Angry Black Woman'. My Slave Sister Myself sheds light on a dark and tragic period in American history and addresses a myriad of issues that were borne in slavery and continue to plague African American society today. The total 55 minute film includes a compelling 45 min. documentary followed by a 10 min. hip-hop version.
