Chinatown Business Luncheon Featuring Cory M. Jobe, Director Illinois Office of Tourism
The Economic Power of Tourism: What Chicago's Chinatown and the International Chinese Market Mean for Tourism and Economic Prosperity in Illinois
Domestically, Chinatown serves as a major cultural and tourism destination for Chicago. Each year, thousands of tourists from around the Midwest and across the country visit this dynamic and thriving neighborhood in order to experience its many attractions, restaurants, and stores. Internationally, the market in China has never been more important to Chicago and Illinois. The Chinese market ranks second for the state and continues to climb. In addition to Chicago, Chinese travelers visit Illinois to drive down Route 66, see the historic sites in Springfield, and to experience the Midwestern charm of the states small towns and communities. Tourism is big business for Chinatown, Chicago, and Illinois!
Join the Chinatown Chamber of Commerce on April 27, 2016, at Lee Wing Wah Restaurant, to hear from our invited speaker and special guest, Cory M. Jobe, Director of the Illinois Office of Tourism. Appointed last year to his position by Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner, Mr. Jobe leads the states tourism industry and works to promote visitor travel both domestically and internationally. Listen to him talk about the economic power of tourism and the impact the industry has on Chinatown, Chicago, and the State of Illinois. Hear what he has to say about his offices domestic and international marketing efforts, including the states latest overseas initiatives in China.
