Roosevelt Dime with special guests Mark Mandeville and Raianne Richards at Lily Pads
Seamlessly combining the feel-good groove of classic Rhythm and Blues with acoustic Americana instrumentation, Roosevelt Dime has crafted an infectious style and sound truly their own. Eben Pariser fronts the band with searingly soulful vocals, belted and whispered with a passion and panache straight from the juke joints. Andrew Greens innovative piano-inspired banjo style, equal parts boogie woogie and bluegrass, lock in with the New Orleans clave rhythms of Tony Montalbanos drums and Craig Akins syncopated upright bass. The swampy chords and swinging blues lines of Ebens semi-hollow electric guitar thicken the sound further still. Armed with original songs of hope, love, and conviction that sound birthed from the cradle of American music yet still crucially relevant to the times in which we live, the group has attracted rowdy revelers on the streets of NYC, captivated serious listeners in quiet clubs, and moved ecstatic dancers at the festival grounds on their current nationwide tour. Roosevelt Dimes jubilant performances are a perpetual crowd pleaser (NY Times) in any setting.
For over a decade, Mark Mandeville & Raianne Richards have resonated with the lover of Americana, old country, and harmony singing, commanding crafted melodies and poignant, introspective lyrics, backing them with delicate arrangements on ukulele, clarinet, guitar and banjo. In 2014 the duo attended NERFA (Northeast Regional Folk Alliance) as QUAD showcase artists. Recently they were selected as the representative folk act for WICN's 45th anniversary gala fundraiser at Mechanics Hall in Worcester, MA- performing regularly at respected folk venues/listening rooms in the northeast such as Club Passim (Boston, MA), Iron Horse Music Hall (Northampton, MA), The Sumner Knight Chapel (Keene, NH), Ashland Coffee and Tea (Ashland, VA), and Burlap and Bean (Philadelphia, PA). Over the years, Mandeville & Richards have shared the stage with acts like Garnet Rogers, Melanie Safka, Eric Brace & Peter Cooper, John Gorka, Willie Watson, Pierce Pettis, Pokey LaFarge, Joan Osborne, Mustard's Retreat, Atwater & Donnely, Antje Duvekot, The Low Anthem, David Wax Museum, Deer Tick and Brown Bird.
