Ancient Future: Matthew Montfort,Vishal Nagar, Mariah Parker
OCA is pleased to host this exciting variation of the internationally renowned world fusion music group Ancient Future! Blending ancient world music traditions from fiery flamenco to resonant raga with the contemporary colors of jazz and rock, this exciting concert features world guitar pioneer and AF leader Matthew Montfort in a debut Sonoma County performance on his brand new custom Martin scalloped fretboard guitar. Recognized as one of the worlds 100 Greatest Acoustic Guitarists , Montfort has expanded the boundaries of guitar playing through his intensive study of the worlds great music traditions as well as collaborations with many world music legends.
Renowned Indian tabla virtuoso Vishal Nagar, who began performing world-wide at the age of eight, will add his unique melodic tabla sound along with his trademark masterful command of rhythm.
