Be a Volunteer Habitat Hero & Plant Milkweed!
Audubon Rockies is partnering with City of Loveland and Loveland Initiative for Monarch Butterflies on a planting project at River's Edge Natural Area. We need your help and are calling volunteer Habitat Heroes of all ages to plant over 2,000 milkweed plants that are the larval host plants of Monarch Butterflies.
Connect with other like-minded folks and enjoy a beautiful day outside planting and feel good about doing something positive for your community, wildlife and restore your joy in nature!
River's Edge Natural Area boasts two miles of trails, five ponds and provides opportunities for hiking, bicycling, wildlife viewing and fishing.
What Should I Bring? -Be prepared to spend the day outdoors in natural elements (wear closed-toed shoes, bring sun protection, dress in layers and have an extra bottle of water) -Food & beverages will be provided -Bring a hammer (preferably labeled so you don't lose it)
Parking Details -Park at Centennial Park and access the site via the Recreation Trail underpass. Well stage the volunteer sign-in/orientation at the southwest corner of the Rivers Edge parking lot.
