Los Angeles Dance Festival 2016
LA is the hot spot for dance. Across the country people are noticing, even the New York Times is noticing. Modern started here in the early 1900's and the local dance community is now stronger than ever. Not seen much of them? That is because they are touring all over America and internationally.
Los Angeles Dance Festival brings these award winning choreographers and dancers home for four amazing days of contemporary Dance in LA. Thirty companies. Four nights of completely different shows and 3 days of classes, complete with food trucks.
What is not to like about this festival? Held in Downtown LA at the Brewery Arts Complex in both the Diavolo and the Brockus Project Studios.
Our idea is to create a market place for the rich number of companies in LA where dancers and audience can be exposed to the companies in mass. There is a lot going on in this town and more people need to celebrate our excellence.
LADF is produced by Brockus Project, under the direction of Deborah Brockus.
LADF features top talent in the dance scene who are recognized locally, nationally and internationally. The dancers and choreographers in LADF work in both the concert and Hollywood industry. Their work is onstage around the world and in feature films, tv shows, music videos, commercials and music tours. Ms. Brockus is the producer of numerous dance showcases including the long running Spectrum Dance in LA series.
Performances and classes will be held at Diavolo Dance Theater and Brockus Project Studios in The Brewery Arts Complex, the largest arts community on the West Coast. Located just northeast of Downtown Los Angeles. 616-618 b Moulton Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90031.
