JAZZ & JIGS: St. Patrick's Day featuring Dan Costello & Essential Jazz
Celebrate your St. Patty's Day with a fun fresh twist! JAZZ & JIGS
will feature many of the valley's finest vocalists combining their
talents for a unique night of music. Multi-talented performer Dan
Costello will bring his magic pot-o'-gold blend of nearly every genre
imaginable into the mix, with a special set of Irish and
Celtic-influenced tunes. And the valley's top professional vocal jazz
ensemble, Essential Jazz, will have exciting arrangements of
spring-themed classics. Previous shows featuring these two acts have
been the talk of the town for months afterward -- don't miss this
chance to see them both on stage in one night!
General Seating: $10 online ($13 at the door)

Many tables in The Sapphire Room are at bar height. Those requiring lower or accessible seating will be most comfortable in the preferred seating section directly in front of the stage or at the bar (21+).
Advance ticket sales will end 4 hours before the show. Unsold seats will be available at the door an hour before the event on March 17th.

Essential Jazz-
Essential Jazz is made up of 16 singers, 5 combo members, and our sound professional. The singers' end is made up of many local choir educators and other stand-out singers, often former singers of the choir directors of the group. The combo is made up of outstanding performing musicians and educators from the Treasure Valley. Essential Jazz comes together with a love for the beauty and power of music, and the message shared through music. As their debut performance was in the stunning Sapphire Room in May 2013, they are delighted to return for this great evening.
Dan Costello-
Blending rock, jazz, classical, bluegrass, and folk may be difficult even hazardous but singer-songwriter and guitarist Dan Costello is up to the challenge. His solo shows display a breathtaking range of virtuosity and inexhaustible talent, moving from original song showcases to all-jazz sets to instrumental concerts to match the audience and venue. And when his band (either the DC3 or the Truck Stop Orchestra) takes the stage, audiences are treated to a feast of eclectic, energized, soulful bad-assery.
Arguably the hardest working musician in Boise, Dan performs an eye-popping 250+ shows per year. He has shared the stage with Steve Miller, Third Eye Blind, Darius Rucker, Robert Earl Keen, Chris Botti, Michael Manring and other noteworthy international and local talent.
He earned a Bachelor of Music degree in classical guitar in 2001 and works both in and out of the scholastic realm as a performer, accompanist, editor, composer, arranger, lyricist, teacher, and manager. Dan has also served on the faculty of Boise State University's Department of Music and is an outspoken advocate of local grassroots movements in the music industry.
