Beekeeping 101
Bee inspired to learn about the fascinating world of honey bees and beekeeping. This workshop is for anyone with an appreciation of bees and interest in backyard beekeeping. You will be introduced to terms used in beekeeping, bee biology, and a brief history of beekeeping. The lifecycle of the queen bee, worker and drone will be reviewed, along with different hive types, tools and equipment. We will provide guidance on purchasing bees and maintaining healthy hives in more sustainable way. Snow date March 5.

Feb. 27 from 1pm-3pm Beekeeping 101 Be inspired by the fascinating world of honey bees and beekeeping.
Mar. 5 from 9am - 11am Hive & Apiary Set-up Hive placement. Order, assemble, and maintain tools and equipment.
Apr. 9 from 1pm - 2pm Planting for Pollinators Transform dull lawns into beautiful natural habitats for pollinators.
Jun. 18 from 10 am - 12pm Hive Inspection Inspecting a hive. Carefully work with bees, tools and a smoker.
Aug. 13 from 10am - 12pm Honey Harvest When to harvest from the hive. Honey tasting.
Sept. 17 from 10am - 12pm Hive Products for Health & Home Transform natural beeswax into lip balm, salve and hand/body creams.
