Capriccio Stravagante
Capriccio Stravaganteexamines the fascinating symbiosis of the Italian and German baroque styles. Beginning in northern Italy, Repasts program works its way northward through Innsbruck, Salzburg, and Vienna, featuring music for violin, dulcian (the early bassoon), cello, and harpsichord.The performance will also includeviolin virtuosoHeinrich Bibers F Major sonata and a modern response to Bibers meditation: theFratresof Arvo Pärt played here on baroque violin, baroque cello, and harpsichord. There will be a half-hour long pre-concert talk at 7:15 by Lynette Bowring in the same location as the concert.
