about INVIZIBLE DESIGNS Fashionista extraordinaire Ivizia and fashion fugitive Peach bring their sexy, edgy, and dirty clothing to life in this year's Dirty Circus Fashion Show. The circus started many years ago when Invizible designs, aka Jaime Eisenschmidt emerged her art from the dirty underground to Portland runways and clubs. Her interest in making clothing stemmed from the lack of something better to wear than what she could create herself. Working the cloth all of her life, she started making Portland a sexier place in 1998 with her edgy and trashy clothing hitting local strip clubs. Around this time, she also discovered another dirty secret. She was not only an expert in making herself and others look fabulous with her clothing, she was also and insatiable pyro. Her performances have been recognized as some of the most creative and explosive fire shows to ever grace Portland stages to which she credits a lot of her fashion inspiration has come from.
Debuting her work as a solid fashion designer in her first runway show in 2004, Invizible has been perfecting her skills and is going full force in this year's 3rd annual Invizible fashion show. What can we expect to see from this fashion diva this year? Think, hideous, what you should be afraid to wear, sexy shaping, the unexpected and other works inspired by her own circus and the madness revolving inside her head.
Who's the partner in crime? Yet another dirty circus character who is also proving himself as a designer to be taken seriously. In fact, he has. His coverage this year in "Just Out' recognized him as one of the up and coming gay designers in Portland . His story starts 33 years ago when he started sewing and designing for fun and practicality. He started taking this art seriously when in 2004, a band member from Steven Segal's Blues Band asked if he could buy his jacket (a peachy keen original) off of his back. He also has dirty pyro secret of which he has been gracing Portland's stages as a sexy and serious fire performer, creating costumes for his inspiring shows.
So what can we expect to see on the runway this year from our favorite fruit? Think plain Jane to Rock star. According to peach, everyone can be a rock star and he is the man to make you look like one. Designs which are neither gay, straight or modern, Peach emphasizes getting back to the era when clothing was 'made'. Think Victorian Hoop skirts in techocolor, corsets, faux-fur naughties and clothing that can turn any body into a sexy body.
