Follow Chaos, an evening of bluegrass
An Evening of Bluegrass To Support Area EMT Memorial Scholarship
On April 8, 2016 at 7:00 p.m.,the historic Grove Theater in Oak Ridge will host Follow Chaos: An Evening of Bluegrass, featuring area bluegrass musicians Mason T. & Carl Capps, and Hardin Valley Thunder. This special night is a benefit for the Colton Stout Memorial Scholarship and promises to be an evening of homegrown, finger-picking musicianship, and finger-licking cuisine with catering by Buddys Barbecue.
Established in 2014, the Colton Stout Memorial Scholarship helps selected students obtain their EMT-Advanced Certification. For students, this evenings benefit concert is confirmation that everyday offers an opportunity to change someones life for the better.
Colton Stout served admirably as a Campbell County EMT-IV, was a proud member of the Anderson County Rescue Squad, and a firefighter with Marlow Volunteer Fire Department. Helping others was vitally important to Colton, and it is the Colton Stout Memorial Scholarships mission to carry on his commitment to helping others by awarding scholarships each year to individuals who share similar goals of service.
Hardin Valley Thunder, a bluegrass ensemble made up of 12 musicians whose eclectic performances reflect Bluegrass musics East Tennessee legacy. Rounding out the evenings festivities is Mason T. and Carl Capps, a unique father-son Bluegrass duet from LaFollette, TN, that blend original compositions featuring red-hot mandolin and guitar picking. Their bluesy, innovative, hard-driving style has garnered comparisons to the very best Bluegrass has to offer.
