Where? At the Village at Grand Traverse Commons in Traverse City, Michigan, where one of the largest, historic preservation and adaptive reuse redevelopments in the country is underway. A beautiful solution to urban sprawl, The Village is the unique renovation of dozens of historic buildings formerly known as the Traverse City State Hospital, and previously, the Northern Michigan Asylum. What's the seating situation for the Dierks Bentley concert? This concert is general admission. No seats are provided. There will be a dancing/standing area in front of the stage where no blankets or chairs will be allowed. Blankets and folding chairs may be set up in the designated area surrounding the dancing/standing area.

Is there anything new happening this year? Why, yes, there is! We will be introducing a new Homebrew Court at this summer's Microbrew & Music Festival. We invite homebrewers to serve the masses and vie for the Tasters' Choice Award. Here's the info: Tasters' Choice Homebrew Competition Where: Traverse City Summer Microbrew & Music Festival at the Village at Grand Traverse Commons When: Saturday, August 25, 2012 What: Festival attendees will be given 9 free taste tokens to try a small sample of each homebrew. At the end of their tasting they will choose their favorite among all the homebrews. The top five homebrews will then be tasted and judged by 4 attending festival brewers. The homebrews will also be tasted by 2 Michigan Hop Alliance officials. The 6 judges will choose their favorite beer and will award the winner as the Tasters' Choice Homebrew Champion as well as a prize (to be announced). Space is limited! Only 20 homebrewers will be accepted on a first-come first-serve basis. You are asked to bring at least 5 gallons of your best homebrew flavor as well as a growler for the final judging. Cash or Credit? The Microbrew & Music Festival will accept credit cards at the door for ticket purchases. We will also accept credit cards at the merchandise area. Please be prepared to pay with cash only for drink tokens and food. One ATM is located at the Mercato.
Will smoking be allowed at the Festival? The festival will be cigarette and smoke-free, but there will be a small designated smoking zone.
Where do I recycle? What can I compost? The Microbrew & Music Festival is an eco-consious event. Please do your part in helping us reduce our impact! Recycle and reuse all that you can, compost your compostables, and toss what you must. Bay Area Recycling for Charities will be on hand to help and to provide bins and information to make the Microbrew & Music Festival a waste-free event.
What if it rains? The Microbrew & Music Festival is a RAIN OR SHINEevent! Keep an eye on that weather forecast and please come prepared for whatever weather mother nature brings!
How do I get there? The entrance to The Village at Grand Traverse Commons is located at the intersection of South Division and West 11th Street (please use caution when using this busy intersection as it does not have a traffic light). Walking, riding bikes, carpooling and use of shuttles is HIGHLY encouraged. Shuttles will be transporting attendees between the Old Town Parking Deck and The Village during the hours of the festival. Limited parking is available on-site. Coming from out-of-town? Book your hotel room now!
What isn't allowed? Please no infants, no toddlers, no kids, no teens, nor anyone else under the age of 21. No pets, no glass, no growlers, no outside food or beverage (water in a sealed bottle is OK), no weapons, no contraband, no bad attitudes. The Traverse City Microbrew & Music Festival is strictly an "Ages 21+" event. Violators will be asked to leave. Porterhouse Productions reserves the right to refuse entry to or remove anyone from the event, at their discretion.
I won't be drinking at the event. Why do I have to pay the same price as those who drink? In addition to microbrew samples, festival attendees will have access to a full lineup of national musical talent, food and beverage vendors, merchandise, festival activities and special events. For this reason, discounted tickets are not available for designated drivers or non-drinkers. Thank you for your understanding.

***Tickets to the 2012 Traverse City Summer Microbrew & Music Festival will go on sale first to attendees of the Great Wakes Festival in downtown Traverse City on Friday, June 1 and Saturday, June 2. A special ticket sales booth will be located on-site at the two-day event. Online ticket sales at www.porterhouseproductions.com and local outlet sales (outlets TBA) will begin for the general public on Monday, June 4. (Note: Members of the Dierks Bentley Congress Fan Club can purchase pre-sale tickets on May 29 and 30 through the performer%u2019s website; visit www.dierks.com for more details). Tickets are $45 in advance/$50 at the door for Friday and $35 in advance/$40 at the door for Saturday, with a special discounted weekend pass available for $75 (advance purchase only). A limited number of Saturday VIP tickets are also available for $50 in advance/$55 at the door. The festival is open to attendees ages 21 and up. |
