Bluesapocalypse 2.0
Back by popular demand, and better than ever!
An evening of blues, soul, jazz, and even more blues with four of the most diverse and interesting local musicians and bands including: Bees Deluxe, Rosemary's Baby Blues, Louise Grasmere and the Rusty Mikes Vintage Blues Band.
Bluesapocalypse 2.0 is a fundraiser for the Arlington Center for the Arts, a vibrant hub for visual and performing arts.
Louise Grasmere
Grasmeres sound is wholly her own -- a unique fusion of jazz-influenced rhythm and blues seasoned with motown, gospel and soul. Think Bonnie Raitt laced with the smooth landscapes of Joni Mitchell,the imaginative improvisations of Ella Fitzgerald, and the gritty authenticity of Big Mama Thornton. Louise's sound is compelling, haunting, at times, angry, powerful, full of love and passion and always deeply real. The Rusty Mikes Vintage Blues Band
The Rusty Mikes are an eclectic group of musicians brought together by the passion for honoring and preserving the vintage blues sound. We sound vintage because we are vintage; in the way we feel, the music we play, and the instruments we use. If you are looking for that eclectic Delta sound and loose rhythm that tell stories of hard times, bad love, and no luck, then come and hear us play.
