Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves (Alan Rickman tribute)
A second chance to see Newcastle Castle's special charity showing of Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, in tribute to screen legend Alan Rickman - with £2 from each ticket sale going to Marie Curie Hospice, Newcastle.
** Please note: The Great Hall of the Castle Keep, where this event takes place, is unfortunately inaccessible to wheelchair users. There is also no central heating, so please wrap up warm. **
In the 1991 retelling of the classic legend, Robin of Locksley (Kevin Costner) takes from the rich to give to the poor, leading a revolt from the depths of Sherwood Forest. The iconic film features a scene-stealing performance from the late, great Rickman as the dastardly Sheriff of Nottingham who plots to marry Maid Marian, ban Christmas and even vows to cut his enemys heart out with a spoon!
