Filmed over a decade, The Price of Memory follows a group of Rastafari who petitioned Queen Elizabeth II for slavery reparations on her last visit to Jamaica, and the lawsuit that followed. The film interweaves the impact of the legacy of slavery on independent Jamaica. Illustrated are travels across the United Kingdom, an exploration of Englands legacy of slavery as well as the British Royal Familys own history with forced servitude.
TIME AND JUDGEMENT: A DIARY OF A 400 YEAR EXILE @ 9PM
Through the creative use of various mediums including theater, poetry, songs and art, Time and Judgement narrates the tribulations and successes of people of African descent in and out of Africa. With extensive footage and critical political analysis of leaders such as Maurice Bishop, Marcus Garvey, Haile Selassie, Jesse Jackson, Kwame Ture (Stokely Carmichael), Louis Farrakhan among others, the viewer is provided with an overview of four hundred years of the Black Liberation Movement.
