Sir Cupcake's Queer Circus Goes to the FUTURE!
Sir Cupcake, veteran circus performer/director Jack Stocklynn, is at it again convening the best of Portland's queer circus community to explore our queer future. Sir Cupcakes Queer Circus Goes to the Future is an imaginative delight with fresh, campy and hilarious acts. Tickets ($20) are available now at www.sircupcake.com and Brown Paper Tickets for performances on March 24-26th, at Echo Theater at 8 p.m, with a special all-ages matinee at 3pm on the 26th. The theater, seating and restroom are all ramp accessible. Friday the 25th the show will be ASL interpreted.
In a twist of fate, Sir Cupcake brings his queer circus past their own time into a fantastical future where a show is just beginning on an interstellar cruise ship. Always ready to perform, they jump into action. But, will they survive in this space-age world? Will Sir Cupcake bring them home safe? And, is someone trying to keep them in the future? Circus queers past, present and future join together for this once in a lifetime performance with aerialists, acrobats, clowns, and more. Acrobatic couples test their love in a new world, a saboteur gets discovered and a robot discovers the meaning of family. Featuring cupcakes (as always!) and special guest performances by DieAna Dae, Box of Clowns, contortion by Meg Russell, duo trapeze by Larke and Kelsey and more!
Sir Cupcake's Queer Circus celebrates queer and trans identities with storytelling and performances by queer and trans people and their allies. This project is supported by the Echo Theater Company, PDX Strength, and community donations. To be a part of making Sir Cupcake's Queer Circus a success send an inquiry to thesircupcake@gmail.com
