Jumbo Wild Film Hits Boise!
Calling Boise's Outdoor Community!
Join Winter Wildlands Alliance and Idaho Mountain Touring on March 15th for Boise's Jumbo Wild screening at the Idaho Mountain Touring shop!
Patagonia presents an hour-long documentary by Sweetgrass Productions depicting all sides of an epic struggle between backcountry protection and development in British Columbias iconic Jumbo Valley highlighting the tension between protection of wilderness and the backcountry experience and ever-increasing development interests in wild places. As you may already know, a large-scale proposed ski resort threatens the rich wilderness of British Columbias Purcell Range a revered backcountry ski and snowboarding destination with world-class terrain, sacred ground for local First Nations people, and part of one of North Americas most important grizzly bear corridors. This isnt your typical ski movie. Set against a backdrop of incredible backcountry ski and snowboard footage, Jumbo Wild features unprecedented documentation of all sides of this divisive issue bringing the passionate local fight to protect the Jumbo Valley to life for a global audience for the first time.
Tickets are $5 and the screening will take place at the Idaho Mountain Touring shop. Grab your friends, pull up a chair, and watch the film that is creating waves in the outdoor community world-wide. Come early for good seats and a killer raffle. Doors open at 6:45pm, film starts at 7:30pm. Bring yer reusable camp mug for brews from Odell Brewing CO.
