Something Old, Something New: THESE ARE THE DAMNED & ATTACK THE BLOCK
If you've been to any of our past events, you know the drill: we're a student film archivist organization that matches up classic films with modern films to celebrate cinema on the big screen. This month (JUNE) it's our SCI-FI SUMMER EDITION!! This double feature is what this film series was made for. Never heard of THESE ARE THE DAMNED? Good! That's perfect! Come to the New Beverly and find out what you're missing! Familiar with Hammer Films and/or Joseph Losey, but not too up-to-snuff on Joe Cornish's work? That's totally fine. We can work with that too. You wanna know why? Cuz it's about to be summertime and summer is all about the movies, man. BIG SCREEN DREAMS. So let's get ready to go to *town* on that crazy thang we call summer with some old and new Sci-Fi with THESE ARE THE DAMNED (1963) and ATTACK THE BLOCK (2011) on June 3rd. All on 35mm. All at the FABULOUS New Beverly Cinema. All brought to you by the Association of Moving Image Archivist Student Chapter who believes that moving image history is what you make AND what you save!
Killer prizes provided by Wacko and Sony Repertory, possible guests (schedules permitting), and other surprises! Always a good time at SOMETHING OLD, SOMETHING NEW!
