HAMLET presented by NY Shakespeare Exchange
NY Shakespeare Exchange follows last year's sold-out run of TITUS ANDRONICUS (called "electrifying" by the NY Times)with a new and powerfully imaginative adaptation of HAMLET. Artistic Director Ross Williams (The Life and Death of King John; Island; Titus Andronicus)leads the charge as director/adapter.
ABOUT THE SHOW
10 actors explore "the universal" and break boundaries of gender, age, race, and type in this ensemble exploration of Shakespeare's Melancholy Prince. Each of the five men and five women will bring their unique perspective to Hamlet's discovery of his father's murder, the charge to exact revenge, his indecision in the face of eternal damnation, and his eventual turn to the violence of retribution, all-the-while morphing seamlessly into the other members of Shakespeare's Danish court: Ophelia, Claudius, Gertrude, and all the rest.
