Ron Powers was the first television critic to win a Pulitzer Prize. He's also well-known for his work on CBS Sunday Morning, which earned him an Emmy Award, as well as his thoroughly-researched and insightful works about fellow Missourian, Mark Twain. In 2000, the book he co-wrote with James Bradley, hit the New York Times Bestsellers List and remained there for 46 weeks. Flags of Our Fathers tells the story of the men credited with raising the American flag at the battle of Iwo Jima.
