In commemoration of the late famed artist Frank Frazetta, we are having an event inspired by the legend he has left behind.
Known for his beautifully rendered paintings and drawings depicting vivacious women, dynamic barbarians and otherworldly adventures, Frank Frazetta's name is synonymous with the fantasy and sci-fi art world. He's known to have created iconic imagery of properties such as Conan, A Princess of Mars, Flash Gordon, Tarzan, and many more.
We hope to celebrate the impact he's had on the art world and pop culture with having the most amazingly talented Aja De Courdreaux pose for us!
Aja is a highly versatile model, muse, and all around awesome person who's been a fan favorite of ours at Dr. Sketchy's! Amongst her myriad experience doing life modeling, she's also a costume designer, and was even featured on season 2 of "Who Wants to be a Superhero!' Known to nerd out and keep up with the geekiest of geeks, she's sure to bring the FIRE to your ICE!
What is Dr Sketchy's Anti-Art School?
Since 2005, Dr. Sketchy's has been the name in alternative drawing. From illegal flashmobs to the Museum of Modern Art, Dr. Sketchy's has brought artists a rule-breaking cocktail of dames, drinking and drawing. Dr. Sketchy's branches draw in over a hundred cities around the globe, from Akron to Zagreb. Whether you're an artstar or a scribbling newbie, Dr. Sketchy's is the perfect place to get your fill of life-drawing.
Dr. Sketchy's is the brainchild of artist Molly Crabapple.
In San Francisco, we have a strong commitment to community. We believe that making art is about finding a great place to practice, with a community of like-minded folks. We celebrate our sometimes indescribable and important local culture. We get excited about our models and we hope that our excitement inspires the artists who attend.
