Flavors of the Piemonte -- Exploring the Wines and Foods of Northwestern Italy
Chef Katie Button and Felix Meana are hosting a special wine dinner at Nightbell on Tuesday, March 1. They have teamed up with local wine experts Mike Tiano from Haw River Wine Man and Josh Spurling from Table Wine, who will be in attendance to discuss the details of the featured wines. It will be a private event with four select wines from Northwest Italy.
These are some of the most food-friendly and versatile wines in the world. With typically elevated levels of acidity and tannin, these are wines that make great partners to many dishes and cuisines.
This will be a four-course pairing meal featuring Italian-inspired cuisine served family-style, a combination of classic Nightbell and newly-created dishes. Seating will be communal. Come early for the special Aperol reception at 6 p.m. Dinner begins at 6:30. Please join us for this special experience!
Mike Tiano is a partner with Haw River Wine Man, a local importing and distributing company. Beginning in 1995, Haw River Wine Man has compiled an Italian wine portfolio that stands out in the Carolinas for quality, price and selection. The company strives to bring the best value by sourcing wine directly from the producer. Their portfolio has grown from the original six wines to now include partnerships with 30 estates in Italy.
Local wine shop Table Wine was founded in 2010 by wine industry veteran Josh Spurling. The store focuses on wines from smaller, family owned and operated, artisanal producers from all parts of the world. Josh loves talking about wine and food and he's excited to share his passion with you.
