With influences ranging from prodigious guitar pickers such as Doc Watson, Leo Kottke, and Kelly Joe Phelps, to the more soulful folk poetry of Elliott Smith, Gillian Welch, and Paul Simon, Nathaniel Talbot's music represents a unique synthesis of old-time picking and the indie here-and-now. Nathaniel combines masterful finger-style guitar work with thoughtful, melodic vocal lines to create a sonic experience that is truly fresh and impactful. He lives on Whidbey Island in Washington's Puget Sound, where he runs an organic vegetable farm and continues to write and perform regionally.

" Nathaniel Talbot's powerful, swooning voice and impressive instrumentation on Here in the Fields offers listeners a powerful glimpse into the singer's life. It's emotional on a personal level, with a sound that effortlessly drags you into the song while simultaneously feeling like it was recorded in a forestIt's a pleasant treat to stumble upon something like this. A fantastic album from beginning to end". SEATTLE WEEKLY

Two years ago Jeffrey Martin became a high school English teacher, and at the same time his songwriting earned him national visibility in the NPR Mountain Stage Song Contest. Since then he has been touring around the country, and teaching English in between tours. He has self-released two short records in the last two years (Gold in the Water and Build a Home), and is gearing up to release a debut, full length, label-backed, record in July of this year.

Martin writes what he finds arresting, and hopes the listener feels the same. His songs often speak to large social issues, yet he writes and delivers them with an intimacy and vulnerability that makes you feel like he is singing directly, and only, to you.

Beyond contests and festivals, Martin's songwriting has earned him shows with some folk heavy hitters like Anais Mitchell, Gregory Alan Isakov, David Wilcox, and others.
