Beerthoven Concert Series: The Taming of the Brew
To beer, or not to beer?
Beer. Always beer. On Sunday, April 17th at 3pm, the Beerthoven Concert Series will present The Taming of the Brew--classical songs and instrumental works inspired by William Shakespeare! Beerthoven welcomes the return of Baritone Austin Bradley with his equally--talented wife, Soprano Natalie Cummings, as well as pianist Hansol Kang. The program will feature Beethoven's Tempest Sonata, art songs by Strauss, Finzi, Verdi, and others, as well as costuming and dramatic readings by Austin Shakespeare's Jennifer Davis. Sample English beer and snacks and mingle with the performers during intermission, all included with admission. This is a ShakesBeerthoven you won't want to miss!
As an added bonus, guests will hear music from the Renaissance for the lute, played by classical guitarist Celil Kaya during intermissions!
Beerthoven events are family-friendly; kids and youth are welcome! Dress casual or business-casual.
