Both gritty and pretty at once - their homebrew take on folk, blues, rock or anything they turn their hands to can't be said to be anything but their own. Sometimes it's as simple as three sweet harmonies, or a single harmonica holding the whole room at attention. Sometimes things growl and shake and come smashing down with a filthy rhythm beneath it. But it's all Crooked Brothers, to the last drop.
They have toured 10 countries, played nearly every province and territory in Canada, and have released three full length albums.

James Lamb
James can be seen performing in urban centers and tiny rural nooks. He has performed in art spaces, established venues, yoga studios, strangers houses, on festival stages and the Via rail lounge car.
Having spent nearly ten years touring as both a side man for various Canadian songwriters and in support of his own releases while living between Nelson, Vancouver, Montreal and Hazelton, James has recently returned to his home town in Nelson BC. Kenton Loewen's The Crackling with Marin Patenaude.
Kenton Loewen's The Crackling paints a timeless portrait of the sound right now. It's ageless presence evokes both a sense of immediacy and nostalgia. It is warm, welcoming, shadowy and somewhat haunting in its composition and natural lyrical candor. Loewen, born in Vancouver, British Columbia, attributes his acoustic and vocal musings to the observations in existential chaos.
Although one may inherently stymie the chaos and take refuge in the perception of safety, Loewen's music provides the opportunity to be present within a temporary story or feeling while embracing the confusion and disorder that may otherwise be seen as untamed or terrifying.
