Nekrogoblikon + Psychostick + Urizen
NEKROGOBLIKON "Who is Nekrogoblikon? Where did they come from? What is goblin metal? Why write songs about goblins? When will I stop feeling so alone?" The answer to all of your questions is it really doesn't matter. What you should instead be concerned with is the fact that your life is probably not nearly as satisfying as it could be, and Nekrogoblikon is here to fix that. Their new album Heavy Meta has not only been in the works for the last 49 years, but also is the first album in history to receive three Grammys (and even one Oscar) without ever having been completed or released. In 1987, psychiatrists worldwide began prescribing audio snippets of the in-progress album to patients in lieu of antidepressants, and by 2001 the album had gone "Secret Platinum." However, it wasn't until now that Nekrogoblikon felt that the general masses would be able to handle the concentrated dose of pure joy that is Heavy Meta. The album arrives on June 2nd, 2015, and is promised by the band to be both "really, really good" and "something people will want to buy...or torrent."
PSYCHOSTICK What happens when two best friends who grew up listening to Weird Al and Pantera decide to start a band combining crunching riffs and laugh-out-loud lyrics? Psychostick happens, happened, and continues to happen. Vocalist Rob Kersey and guitarist Josh Key teamed up with drummer Alex Dontre and Matty J "Moose" to create some of the most off-the-wall records to ever reach store shelves. Backed up by a fleet of viral-sensation online videos and an insane live show that few can forget, Psychostick has proven year after year that they refuse to be ignored. And the fans wouldn't have it any other way. Now residing in Chicago, IL with four hard-hitting comedic albums behind them "We Couldn't Think of a Title" (2006), their holiday album "The Flesh Eating Rollerskate Holiday Joyride" (2007), "Sandwich" (2009), and "Space Vampires vs. Zombie Dinosaurs in 3D" (2011) the nearly 100 percent do-it-yourself band Psychostick returns with their latest offering: The crowd-funded album "Revenge of The Vengeance" out on November 4, 2014. (fan thank you video http://youtu.be/iSeQHqMCfJI) Featuring an eye-brow raising track list that includes previously released singles such as the manly beard anthem 'Obey The Beard' (http://youtu.be/q0kSuZFOwFE?t=4s) and over-night internet hit 'Dogs Like Socks', (http://youtu.be/swmuqGWgZCc) plus new tracks 'Quack Kills', 'So. Heavy.', 'Blue Screen', and a tribute to the 21st century's most beloved action super hero 'Bruce Campbell," Psychostick aims to please their cult-like following while maintaining steady growth as new fans discover this one-of-a-kind project.
URIZEN URIZEN is a whole hell-of-a-lot of fun packed onto a stage full of monsters, metal, robots, mad science, and a group of dudes rocking their hearts out in the name of entertainment!
For years, URIZEN has been storming stages in their native Texas and beyond with a unique blend of symphonic-tinged, video game-inspired hard rock. Armed with an intricate and massively entertaining live show, the band has embarked on US tours with rad talents like PSYCHOSTICK, THE PROTOMEN, MEGA RAN, DR. AWKWARD, and many more. URIZEN is also a friend to the convention and festival circuit, with main stage appearances at MAGFEST, NERDAPALOOZA, DRAGON*CON, and SOUTH BY SO WHAT?!? Holy moly!
The band was formed by brothers Thomas and Daniel Drinnen (guitar/vocals and keyboards, respectively), who were joined by bassist Rustin Luther in 2012 and live drummer Nolan McCormick in 2015. URIZEN has released three albums: autocratopolis (2005), Universe EP (2007), and Universe:Red (2010); and one remix album, 8-Bit Universe (2011), with a brand-new full-length LP slated for release in 2015.
