Conflict: The Machine of Fiction by Karen Finneyfrock at Bloedel Reserve
Stories are their conflicts. In this workshop for writers working on a novel, we will use readings, discussion, and writing exercises to explore the inherent conflicts that make up the world of our stories: conflict with nature, society, law, and conflict between people.
Once we have brainstormed some conflicts, we will take a walk through Bloedel Reserve and allow nature to unravel the tensions tangled up in our books. Come prepared to write and walk.
Wear walking shoes and bring a notebook and pen.
