Slagel Family Farm Tour & Dinner Event with Perennial Virant, Vie, Vistro & Osteria Via Stato
Slagel Family Farm is excited to announce their farm tour & dinner on October 1st 2016. The afternoon will begin with a butchering demo at Slagel Family Meats. We will be demonstrating how to butcher either a beef, pork or lamb carcass into retail cuts. LouisJohn (The Farmer) will then be giving a farm tour of his family livestock farm. Guests will see a variety of livestock and learn about the old fashioned production practices the Slagel's use to produce their farm fresh meat products. Following the butchering demo and farm tour, a farm dinner will be served family style in a new barn right next to the livestock pastures. The dinner will be prepared and served by Guest Chef Paul Virant from Perennial Virant/Vie and Guest Chef David DiGregorio from Osteria Via Stato. Feel free to BYOB; lemonade and water will be provided. Bus transportation from Chicago will be provided; when purchasing your ticket please select your transportation option. The Bus will pick everyone up at Osteria Via Stato 620 N State St. Chicago, IL 60654 at 12:00 noon on October 1st. Children are welcome as long as they have parent supervision.
