American Suffragettes
Inspired by her visit to the Suffragette exhibit at the Museum of London, local therapist Sarah Forni joined forces with writer Becca Smith and poet Theresa Whitehill to create this program, which explores the lives and motivations of the leading figures in the American Suffragette movement. Drawing on letters and published writings, our trio of modern-day feminists looks back at the evolution of women's rights, the passions that sparked the commitment of the suffragettes, the men who supported them, and the writers and artists who promoted their cause. Bring your daughters and granddaughters to this engaging afternoon of history come to life.
