HARD BARD - The Duchess of Malfi
Hard Bard is back! It's a simple concept: when the script calls for blood, we think more is better! Hard Bard is hyper-reality: there are no small moments, characters, or actions. Passions run hotter. Hearts swell fuller. Stakes rise higher. And vengeance is served colder.
Tony Driscoll, who originated our Hard Bard style, is directing.
The Duchess of Malfi was penned by Jacobean playwright John Webster. It starts out well enough as a nice little love story. The Duchess secretly marries below her class, which displeases her brothers to no end. Power, corruption, cruelty, and revenge ensue. And blood. Lots and lots of blood.
The cast includes Aaron Allshouse, John Clark, Taylor Davis, Anthony Duckett, Jalyn Green, Danny Herter, Noah Luce, Mark A. McQuinn, Abby Nathan, Helen Roundhill, Eli Sklov Simons, Nicole Vernon, and Taylor Westerlund

Just in case you didn't know, Hard Bard has been known to contain MURDER, SUICIDE,LUST, REVENGE, MUTILATION, RAPE,GRAVE ROBBING, DISMEMBERMENT,ADULTERY, BEHEADING, LAWYER JOKES,NECROPHILIA, ADULTERY, CLOWNS, INCEST, ZOMBIES, VOMIT, MAGGOTS, CANNIBALISM, BAD TOUCHING, LOTS OF BLOOD, BANJOS, and CHEAP BEER.
Probably not appropriate for children, but hey... they're your kids.
