Band in Seattle live television taping with Pig Snout and Mindie Lind
What's more Seattle than supporting your local businesses? Supporting your local musicians, that's what. So be a responsible Northwestern-er and get yourself down to Victory Studios for the taping of our next episode of Band in Seattle with artists Pig Snout and Mindie Lind on March 10th, 2016. Each band will perform a 45-minute concert, followed by a filmed interview and music trivia webisode, sponsored in part by American Music. Front doors open at 6PM at Victory Studios, 2247 15th Avenue West (near the Interbay Golf Center) and the concert ends approximately at 10PM.
Pig Snout: I, Justin/Dad, have played music since I was 16. (Basically, my kids will be better musicians before they are even the age that I started playing.) I play guitar, bass, drums, piano, and whatever other stringed instrument I can get a hold of. I write the music, lyrics, arrange the parts and then record It all.
Pig Snout is basically a project to help the kids learn the ins and outs of playing music and being in a band. They came up with their own band name, they name most of the songs, they draw and design the logos (which are made into shirts) and they painted the kick drum. Every band decision is run through them before an answer is made. They are starting to write their own parts to songs and come up with more and more creative ideas.
Mindie Lind: Mindie Lind's music glistens with intention, deliberation and style, and yet she says for the longest time she wasn't conscious of her musicality. For all intents and purposes, Mindie's exposure to music was a fluke, hinging on her adoption into a church-going family and then her coincidental friendships with "music makers" as a young adult. Now, she writes consciously, releasing stunning music videos as the visual backbone to her sound; an intersection between classic country, vulnerable poeticism, and straight-out-of-the church piano that is both unique and down-home, just like Mindie.
