Slow Food NYC is Crackers for Quackers! Duck Confit, Peking Duck, Duck Tacos, Duck Ragu, Duck TagineIs there another avian as culinarily versatile as the likes of Donald and Daffy? We don't think so. Join Slow Food NYC at this competitive duck derby, where chefs* will deliver a dozen delectable, duck dishes for eaters' delight and Hudson Valley Duck Farm will serve up delicious duck charcuterie! And, Jimmy's No. 43 is offering ticket buyers $1 off on two libations from their collection of artisanal Spirits of New York.
DUCK-OFF! is sponsored by Slow Food NYC's good friends Hudson Valley Duck Farm and Jimmy's No. 43.
Proceeds from this event will support Slow Food NYC Urban Harvest, our program of good food education for New York City children at our summer, tuition-free, educational urban farm in East New York, Brooklyn and at 16 schools in the South Bronx and East Harlem, on the Lower East Side, and in Brooklyn. Urban Harvest activities include edible gardens, cooking classes, field trips, good food courses, farm-to-cafeteria days, and student run "farm stands" offering fresh, local produces. Each year, Urban harvest touches 2,000 children.
