ST. PAT'S 1926 IRISH WAKE FOR DR. E.W.GROVE. An Immersive Vaudevillian Dinner Theatre Show. - MAR. 17, 18 & 19
THE IMMERSION MARCH 17, 18 & 19 1926 DR. E.W. GROVE ...AN IRISH THREE DAY WAKE for DR. E.W. GROVE You have been cordially invited to a traditional IRISH open casket wake hosted at Lex 18 for Dr. E.W. Grove. The extraordinary Dr. Grove, creator of the Tasteless Quinine Company which he established in Asheville, North Carolina in 1900 had many interest in Asheville, including the famous Battery Hotel, Grove Arcade and Grove Park Inn. With great sadness, his dramatic and very talented friends found Dr. Grove presumed dead in his room at the Battery Hotel.
Hearts filled with sadness for the passing and joy with the knowledge of this great man, Grove's artistic friends bring forth their stories, toasts, songs and dance ever-increasingly dramatized with their growing tipsiness. Unbeknownst those gathered at hand Dr. Grove is all but dead and comic absurdities ensue with each passing toast, speech, song, dance the IRISH wake concludes with the closing of the casket, and then pandemonium ensues!
DINNER SHOW IMMERSION This unique dinner show experience is classic vaudeville melodrama with a twist of fictionalized and historical facts and personages. The evening is a blend of charming slapstick, musical and dance performances, absurdities, soliloquy and poetry and melodramatic IRISH comedy. With an integrated cast of "artistic types", costumed staff and host characters, guests can expect feel they are part of the show and immersed in the evening.
