About the Play In a secluded English wood, there lies the charred body of a woman who appears to have consumed vast quantities of absinthe. An investigation leads to a secret distillery, the producer of a highly addictive brew that causes dangerous deliriums: Unlikely people fall in love, marble statues spring to life, and an ancient Greek sorceress lets loose a plague that transfigures all mankind.
About The Playwright Fengar Gael has had workshops and/or productions at the InterAct Theatre, New Jersey Repertory, the Salt Lake Acting Company, the Moxie Theatre of San Diego, Kitchen Dog Theatre of Dallas, The Athena Project, the Landing Theatre of Houston, and in New York: Urban Stages, the Resonance Ensemble, CAP 21, MultiStages, and Manhattan Theatre Works. She is a recipient of the Craig Noel Award, Playwrights First Award, and commissions from South Coast Repertory, two from the National New Play Network, and a fellowship from the California Arts Council. Devil Dog Six, will be produced at Detroit Repertory in March 2016 and Opaline will be also be produced at the Garage Theatre in Long Beach, California in March, 2016. Opaline was a winner of the Playwrights First Competition and chosen for developmental workshops at New Jersey Repertory Company and the Utah Shakespearean Festival New American Playwrights Project.
