Rhythm Addicts Band, Dance your heart out for a good cause!
This Valentine's Day dancing your heart out benefits not only you but also the Fairfax Food Pantry and Fairfax COMMUNITY Church. Free style dance with or without a partner to the Rhythm Addicts, a 6 member band that play a unique fusion of West African rhythms and melodies with American and European songs and musical sensibilities. The three percussionists who form the rhythmic core of the group; Gabriel Harris, Ben Isaacs, and Wade Peterson, have been studying, performing, and teaching traditional music from Guinea, Mali, and Senegal together and individually for over 20 years. They are joined by renowned guitarist Tom Finch (Big Brother and the Holding Company), bassist Anna Pfeifer (Dirty Cello), and multi-instrumentalist Charles Moselle. Together they deliver powerful grooves that call the audience to the dance floor, and haunting melodies that touch the heart and soul.
There will be a brief live auction at intermission which includes art work from local artists, vacation getaways and great services from local businesses. Chocolate, coffee, chai and other locally grown teas will be available by Key Tea. Come spend a wild, yummy and heart filled Valentine's Day supporting your own heart and local community.
