Dr Sketchy's Anti Art School
The world's premier alt.drawing movement, Dr Sketchy comes to the Festival of the Erotic Arts.
Instead of static models being drawn by artists sitting in silence in a cold art studio, Dr Sketchy's Anti-Art School is what happens when Cabaret meets Art Class. Short poses are accompanied by live music interspersed with performances or competitions from the talented models themselves. The charming hosts sing and award prizes and encourage the audience to make art and mischief in equal measure while cocktails are served from the bar. Presented by both the Edinburgh and Glasgow Dr Sketchy teams, this special one-off event is an opportunity to see two of the most erotic and beautiful acts in Scottish burlesque: Vendetta Vain with her scandalous and shocking "Laundry Day" routine that raised a few eyebrows at Torture Garden both in Edinburgh and London. Mia Meow debuting a classic full-nude balloon dance plucked straight out of the golden era of burlesque in the music halls, With events in over one hundred cities across the globe, Dr Sketchy is arguably the biggest art event in the world. Dr Sketchy Edinburgh was formed in 2006 and continues to be a hugely succesful event on the scottish art scene. Dr Sketchy Glasgow was created in 2007 and has gone on to be one of the largest and most succesful in the world.
