Sustainable Landscaping Training - King County Housing Authority
King County Housing Authority (KCHA) and Cascade Water Alliance present a training series for KCHA and Seattle Housing Authority staff and invited guests. This two-day training will provide KCHA staff with detailed information about how to manage landscapes in a way that minimizes unnecessary chemical and water use and relies on maximizing natural processes to keep landscapes healthy and green. Topics will include proper tool operation and maintenance, pruning, watering, mulching, soil health, and vegetable gardening maintenance. The training is free and takes place at the Lake Washington Institute of Technology's Environmental Horticulture facility and arboretum. Attendance is limited to 30 people per training session. Lunch is provided.
The complete training includes Part 1: Plant & Food Garden Maintenance and Part 2: Lawns & Sport Field Maintenance. When reregistering only sign up for a single Part 1 and Part 2 training. Do not sign up for all four Wednesdays.
