Veinte canciones en desamor y... Ayotzinapa
Colectivo El POZO will premiere a new performance: Twenty Songs of Heartbreak and... Ayotzinapa. The performance has as the central artery the poetry and acting of Febronio Zatarain; it includes music played by Emiliano Rojas, Alycya Magaña and Zatarain himself. This performance will be directed by Raúl Dorantes and will be performed in Spanish with subtitles in English. Twenty Songs of Heartbreak and... Ayotzinapa will run from February 11 21 at La Casa de Óscar López.
Twenty Songs of Heartbreak and... Ayotzinapa is the story of two conflicts with one protagonist. On the one hand, a man in his home confronts the rising pain from a romantic break-up. On the other hand, he listens and follows reluctantly the news about 43 disappeared students in a city located in southern Mexico. The individual and social conflicts interact and contradict each other in a difficult-and sometimes comical-zigzag. How can both pains be healed? What role does the conscience play?
