Special Offer: Festival Double Feature - Friday, March 18
Welcome to Seattle's March Is Cabaret Month Festival 2016!
This DISCOUNTED double-feature ticket buys you a seat for back-to-back shows, featuring two performers at 7 pm and a different two performers at 9 pm. (There will be a half-hour break from 8:30 to 9.) Here's the lineup for Friday, March 18!
MARCH IS CABARET MONTH Presents: CAROLYN MAGOON in "Breakin' Hearts and Breakin' Heels" Carolyn pulls out some of her favorite songs from cabarets past. Join her as she shares memories of hushed love, mixed signals, backstage breakups, and twisted tales of dressing room divas sure to pop the olives right out of your martini. Heels are encouraged, but flats are more sensible.
Carolyn has been performing everywhere for over two decades! She has enjoyed roles at The 5th Avenue Theatre, Village Theatre, ACT, and other regional theatres. Carolyn worked as a production singer for Carnival Cruises and sang in a London wine bar "back in the day". She is thrilled to be joining March Is Cabaret Month for her third year.
MARCH IS CABARET MONTH Presents: CHARLES CROWLEY in "Midnight, the Stars and You: Crooners of the 20th Century"
Charles the Cosmopolitan Crooner and Sue Bardsley the One-Woman Orchestra (and Chorus!) return to MICM with a show celebrating song stylists from the 1930s to '60s, from Bing Crosby to Perry Como to Vic Damone and beyond.
CHARLES CROWLEY
Charles has performed for many years in musical theatre, operetta, opera and cabaret at such venues as Village Theatre, Seattle Musical Theatre, SecondStory Rep, Skagit Opera and Puget Sound Opera. Favorite roles include Crisparkle in DROOD, Angus in BRIGADOON, Captain Corcoran in H.M.S. PINAFORE and Kodaly in SHE LOVES ME. Charles was bitten by the cabaret bug in 2011, when he created "Take Me Along: A Transcontinental Cabaret" at Jewelbox Theatre; he has since appeared in 2013 and 2015's March Is Cabaret Month at Egan's. He most recently appeared in "Sugar and Spice", a holiday cabaret with Angie Louise, Marcus Wolland and LaWanda DuPree.
MARCH IS CABARET MONTH Presents: ANGIE LOUISE & MIZ LAWANDA DUPREE in "APPETITE FOR EXCESS"
Intoxicating singer-songwriter Angie Louise and irrepressible jazz matron LaWanda DuPree team up to prove that in a world rife with pleasures, more is more - the trick is not to indulge ourselves to ruination! With David Marriott Jr. (trombone), John Engerman (piano), Todd Gowers (bass) and Ed Littlefield as hot band The Lou'siana Gators.
