MARCH IS CABARET MONTH Presents: KIM MAGUIRE in "Between The Sheets"
This sexy, chic act will take an intimate look at who and what lie behind some of the world's most well-written songs, from high and fast to slow and low. Come find out what lies between the sheets. Pianist: Jake Sele.
KIM MAGUIRE
Kim Maguire has been privileged to sing on some amazing stages, including Houston Grand Opera, Theatre Under The Stars (Houston), 5th Avenue Theatre, Benaroya Hall, Rainier Symphony, Village Theatre, Boxley's and Egan's. She has sung everything from classical to heavy blues, small cabaret venues to big splashy theatres. Her favorite spot to be, however, is in a small room that allows her to sit back with herself and feel what it is to "just be" in the music, and with the audience. Kim has classical musical roots, and though her sound is carefully sculptured, cabaret means letting the music go where the emotional moment of the lyric takes her. Kim's upcoming CD "A Night In June" will be available soon through www.kimmaguirejazz.com.
MARCH IS CABARET MONTH Presents: GRETCHEN RUMBAUGH in "In My Life: A Beatles Songspiel"
Cabaret chanteuse Gretchen Rumbaugh sings theatrical and jazz arrangements of Beatles songs.
GRETCHEN RUMBAUGH
Gretchen has led a very theatrical life: many stages, many lives, many friendships. Her career has blessed her with fascinating opportunities to play real-life women as diverse as Mae West, Patsy Cline, Leona Helmsley and Ann Landers in the format of the One-Woman Show; she also created the role of Wendy in the original Seattle production of worldwide hit ANGRY HOUSEWIVES. Other favorite roles: Mama Rose in GYPSY; Dot/Marie in SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE (Seattle Civic Light Opera); SHIRLEY VALENTINE; Lucy Brown in THE THREEPENNY OPERA; the Drowsy Chaperone in THE DROWSY CHAPERONE (Broadway Rose Theatre Company; and her dream role of Mrs. Lovett in SWEENEY TODD (Portland Center Stage). In Portland, where she resides, Gretchen created and co-produced the professional singer showcase CABARET CHANTEUSE, which she hosted monthly for four years at Tony Starlight's Supperclub. Musical director: John Engerman.
MARCH IS CABARET MONTH Presents DELILAH BEAUCOUP in "J'ai Deux Amours"
Join Delilah Beaucoup and her accompanist Hanz Hands for a set of French Cabaret. With her smoky alto, playful patter and vintage style, Delilah reminds us of a bygone era. Mais Oui!
DELILAH BEAUCOUP
Delilah Beaucoup and her band Bissou have been delighting Seattle audiences since 2012 with their focus on French torche, French cabaret, and vintage jazz from a bygone era. Her sassy and elegant stage style and rich alto voice are reminiscent of vintage jazz divas. Delilah and Bissou play a wide range of events, from burlesque shows to the Triple Door to themed events and restaurants. Prior to Bissou, Delilah has performed as a vintage model in burlesque shows, a cabaret character, and fronted two rock bands and a Eurythmics tribute band since 1999.
