New Music for Young Audiences: Reflecting Science (Fiction) through Music
Ensemble 212 presents a family friendly concert featuring new music by living composers. By teaching the elements and techniques used in new music, audiences of all ages can better appreciate and understand today's composers.

Co-produced by Artistic Director Yoon Jae Lee and 2014-15 Composer in Residence Texu Kim, this hour long event presents music relating to science (and fiction) in a fun and accessible manner.  The scientific subjects touched upon will be biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics.  One work relating to science fiction will also be part of the mix.  The aim is to teach audiences about the elements and techniques used in contemporary classical music.  Live on-screen annotations will provide additional insight into the music during the performance. This unique feature enhances the listener's experience by leading them to a deeper understanding and appreciation of classical music.

There will also be an introduction and demonstration of the instruments and an interactive Q & A session with the composers and performers present.  Dont miss this one of a kind educational concert that will shatter barriers and open contemporary classical music to young audiences.
