THE 29th EROTIC POETRY & MUSIC FESTIVAL!
"An eclectic celebration of the erotic arts!"
The infamous "Erotic Poetry & Music Festival" celebrates its 29th year and is one Detroit's oldest community arts festivals. "An eclectic celebration of the erotic arts!" it features provocative poetry, dirty spoken word, erotic art, music, and dance performances by some of the city's top performers and fun local vendors. It promises to be an evening you won't forget!
The show is on SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 27, 8:00 p.m. doors, 8:30 showtime and 21 & over are welcome. Admission is $10. Partial proceeds benefit the Michigan non-profit organization "Paws with a Cause.org," who train and provide leader dogs for the disabled. The event will be held at THE TANGENT GALLERY/ HASTINGS ST. BALLROOM located at 715 E. Milwaukee in Detroit. (313-873-2955) The 2016 show is sponsored by the Detroit event website and local entertainment supporter, Detroit Can Kick Your Ass.
Highlights of the show are Detroit's favorite performance artist, Satori Circus, the city's top burlesque performer Lushes LaMoan, songbird Audra Kubat and a special acoustic set by Laura & Jorge of the band White Shag, poetry readings by Dena Luckett, Castratta Lady of Pain, and the return of spoken word raconteur Jimmy Doom. The visual arts portion of the show features six artists exhibiting their work and a variety of local vendors will be displaying their wares too.
