Two Acts In Two Acts
Les Michaels Sundays In Summer Cabaret Series offers something special on May 18, 19 and 20 at the Arthur Newman Theatre with 'Two Acts In Two Acts'. Basically audiences will be treated to two different one act mini-musicals for one low price of $15. Act One is Broadway performer Dean Regan in "Dissertation Of The State Of Bliss" - a cabaret style musical about a guy who finds himself suddenly single and who contemplates his future at a local cocktail lounge with stories and songs to express his wide-range of feelings. The second act brings local favorites Elaine Wang-Meyerhoffer and Rocky Blumhagen together once again. This time as famed Broadway and Hollywood film songwriters Betty Comden and Adolf Green in "A Party With Comden and Green". At the party, the two will tell backstage stories and perform their legendary music with the audience as their guests. Both acts were devised, staged and directed by Jack Moore, under the musical direction and piano accompaniment of Charlie Creasy. There will be three performance of each act over three days including Friday, May 18th at 7 PM, Saturday, May 19th at 7 PM, and Sunday, May 20th at 2 PM. The two acts will have an intermission between them and are presented at The Arthur Newman Theatre at the Joslyn Center in Palm Desert.
