Join Meadowlark in celebrating Seollal, the Lunar New Year, with a Korean-inspired feast!
The festive and convivial meal will begin with a dumpling and rice cake soup, said to bring prosperity for the new year. Next we'll feast on bo ssäm, a succulent, salty-sweet roasted pork shoulder, which is stuffed into lettuce leaves with rice, condiments, vegetables, and herbs and eaten with the hands. Our bo ssäm will be served with spicy and savory sauces (including one featuring gochujang made specially for us by Sarah of Marshall's Haute Sauce and Han of Kim Jong Grillin), housemade kimchi, and an assortment of seasonal banchan. Rounding out the meal will be two flavors of ice cream sandwiches--black sesame and yuzu.
The dinner will be served family-style, with refreshing beverages (both alcoholic and non) to cut the heat. The ticket price includes ALL food, drink, and gratuity. For this dinner, we're also offering a pescatarian alternative--please just let us know when you order if you'd prefer this option!
About Meadowlark:
Founded in 2014 by chefs Jen Datka and Emily Park, Meadowlark is a Portland-based supper club that hosts pop-up dinners around the Pacific Northwest. Our emphasis is on local, seasonal cuisine and handcrafted ingredients--virtually everything we serve is made from scratch. Each of our dinners focuses on a different cuisine, theme, or cultural event, but we always offer a sustainably sourced meal and a welcoming, convivial atmosphere.
