Matt Miner Presents and sponsor Hearing Health welcome singer-songwriter-fiddlers Kathryn Claire and Anna Tivel to O'Connor's Vault, Saturday, February 6 at 7pm.
Kathryn Claire exhibits a charisma and grace on stage matched only by her unique voice and rare ability to move seamlessly across genres. She has spent years cultivating her style and approach to music as a violinist, guitar player, singer, and songwriter. She has toured and performed extensively in the US, Japan, India, Holland, Belgium and France. Willamette Week said "Claire's rich, bell-clear alto and precise playing serve her songs with emotional generosity and evident sincerity."
Anna Tivel's voice is somehow timid and commanding, sweet and edgy at once. We've heard of dog whisperers and horse whisperers; Anna is a people whisperer. Her voice says, "I don't have to shout; these are important ideas, so listen carefully." Raised among the ferns and the farmland of Northern Washington, Anna loved words long before they became the backbone of her music. Based in Portland, she spends her time reading, writing, touring and fiddling, and watching her dog try to catch flies by the window.
